Security is a personal setting rather than an organisation one: every member has it, not only admins, and what you do there applies to your own sign-in.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication asks for a code from an authenticator app, in addition to your password or your sign-in link, each time you sign in. It is off until you turn it on.

To turn it on:

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity and click Turn on.
  2. If you sign in with a password, confirm it.
  3. Save your recovery codes. You are shown ten one-time codes and asked to confirm you have saved them before anything is switched on — copy or download them and keep them somewhere other than your phone.
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or add the account by hand using the setup key shown beside it.
  5. Enter the six-digit code your app shows and click Confirm.

Two-factor authentication is on from that point. SettingsSecurity then shows how many recovery codes you have left, offers a new set, and offers Turn off.

Each recovery code works once. If you lose your authenticator app, a recovery code is the way back into your account — so if you are running low, get a new set before you need one. Keep them: without your authenticator app and without a recovery code there is no way back into the account from inside PreHire.
