Security is a personal setting rather than an organisation one: every member has it, not only admins, and what you do there applies to your own sign-in.
Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication asks for a code from an authenticator app, in addition to your password or your sign-in link, each time you sign in. It is off until you turn it on.
To turn it on:
- Go to Settings → Security and click Turn on.
- If you sign in with a password, confirm it.
- Save your recovery codes. You are shown ten one-time codes and asked to confirm you have saved them before anything is switched on — copy or download them and keep them somewhere other than your phone.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or add the account by hand using the setup key shown beside it.
- Enter the six-digit code your app shows and click Confirm.
Two-factor authentication is on from that point. Settings → Security then shows how many recovery codes you have left, offers a new set, and offers Turn off.
Each recovery code works once. If you lose your authenticator app, a recovery code is the way back into your account — so if you are running low, get a new set before you need one. Keep them: without your authenticator app and without a recovery code there is no way back into the account from inside PreHire.
